ArtworxTO Spotlight: Noor Gatih

Meet ArtworxTO’s Spotlight Emerging Artist, Noor Gatih , an emerging filmmaker and photographer whose work explores gender and generational patterns. 

Noor’s photography has been showcased in the, Shine On Exhibition at Nathan Philips Square, Gallery 44 and Wave Art Collective. 

Noor was gifted me a Nikon DSLR from her mother at age 19 began writing screenplays on my free time.  Noor fell in love with cinema and moving images once she realized the opportunities that creative expression provide for internal healing. Noor’s short film, Khobs & Chai (2022) screened at TIFF Lightbox as part of the Asian Arts and Culture Trust showcase in Toronto. She was also part of the 2022 Arab Women’s virtual exhibition organized by Toronto Arab Film Festival and had the honour of being a guest panelist among other Arab filmmakers.
